Andaz Maui is one of those venues that feels designed to be painted. The oceanfront lawns steps from Mōkapu Beach, the open-air architecture, the way the late afternoon light stretches across the water toward Molokini, everything about it invites a fine-art response. I always arrive early at this property, because the setup alone is worth sketching before guests arrive.

When I paint at Andaz, most couples who book a live painting here choose the oceanfront lawn during the ceremony or reception, but some prefer to have me positioned for the first dance, where the candlelight and garden backdrop create a completely different mood. Either works beautifully in oil.
