Live Wedding Paintings in Hawaii: Capturing Love in Real Time
There’s something unforgettable about hearing your vows in Hawaiʻi - the ocean air, the light, the emotion, the people you love most in one place. A live wedding painting lets you hold onto that feeling in a way photos can’t quite replicate, because you’re not just documenting how it looked, you’re preserving how it felt.
Live wedding painting is exactly what it sounds like: a professional artist paints your wedding moment in real time while your guests watch the artwork come to life.

What is a live wedding painting?
A live wedding painting is an original, hand-painted artwork created during your ceremony or reception. I build the painting on-site, capturing the atmosphere and key details, then refine and finish it after the wedding using high-quality reference photos so the final piece feels polished, timeless, and display-ready.
This is part fine art, part experience - guests love seeing the scene appear on canvas, and couples love ending up with an heirloom that feels personal and one-of-a-kind.
Why couples love live wedding paintings in Hawaii
Hawaiʻi weddings already feel cinematic. Between the coastline, the greenery, the florals, and the golden-hour glow, the setting naturally lends itself to a painting that belongs on a wall for decades.
A live wedding painting also becomes an interactive moment at the reception. Guests stop by, take photos with the canvas, and watch the layers build throughout the night. It’s wedding entertainment that still feels elegant and elevated.
My process as a live wedding painter
Before the wedding, I connect with you to choose the best moment to paint and make smart composition decisions. That’s where we plan what matters most:
The scene you want captured (ceremony, first dance, sunset portrait, reception energy)
The key people you want included
Meaningful details (lei, florals, venue architecture, cultural touches)
On the wedding day, I arrive early, set up discreetly, and paint live. I also capture reference photos throughout the event and coordinate with your photographer when needed to make sure the final artwork is accurate and refined.

Live Guest Portraits: a favorite for modern weddings
If you want something your guests can take home, Live Guest Portraits are one of the most loved add-ons right now. They’re quick, hand-painted portraits created during cocktail hour or reception, and each guest leaves with a personal keepsake. Couples love them because they double as entertainment and wedding favors.
My setup is simple and flow-friendly: guests step in, I paint them in their wedding look, and they walk away with art. For larger events, I can also finish any remaining portraits after the celebration, so you still get a complete set.
Prints and gifting options
Many couples choose to keep the original painting as their main heirloom, then gift prints to parents or close family. You can also use artwork-inspired details later (anniversary gifts, framed prints, or thank-you keepsakes) to extend the story of the day.
Where I work: Maui and all Hawaiʻi islands
I’m based on Maui, and I travel for weddings across Hawaiʻi, including Oʻahu, Kauaʻi, Lānaʻi, Molokaʻi, and the Big Island. Travel expenses apply to events outside of Maui.
