Hit and Run Caricatures by Ariel Quiroz

Memorable and Entertaining
Wedding or any event!

Liven up your wedding, party or special event in Maui with unique live caricature entertainment! Hit and Run Caricatures offers a one-of-a-kind experience where artist Ariel Quiroz mingles with your guests and surprises them with quick, whimsical sketches capturing their likeness and personality. It's a fun, interactive way to entertain your guests and give them a special keepsake of your event.

How It Works

Rather than having guests pose at an easel, Ariel circulates through your event and discreetly draws people on the spot without them realizing it at first. When finished, he "hits" the unsuspecting guest by presenting them with the caricature, then "runs" off to find his next subject. This stealthy approach allows Ariel to capture a good cross-section of your crowd with his fast, playful sketches.

The Experience

Imagine the delight on your guests' faces as they are surprised with a cartoon version of themselves! Though quickly rendered, Ariel's caricatures have an uncanny way of exaggerating each person's most prominent features in a lighthearted way. Guests love unexpectedly receiving this unique party favor and seeing the fun, candid sketches Ariel creates of their friends and family throughout the event. Hit and Run Caricatures inject an element of excitement and charm into the atmosphere.

What makes Hit and Run Caricatures different from traditional caricature services?

Hit and Run Caricatures offers a unique twist on live event caricature entertainment. Rather than having guests pose at an easel, the artist works in "stealth mode" - moving through the crowd and discreetly sketching guests without them realizing it at first. When finished, the artist surprises each guest by presenting them with the caricature. This "hit and run" approach allows the artist to capture a wide cross-section of the crowd with quick, lively sketches that become memorable party favors.

How can I make sure the caricature artist captures a variety of guests at my event?

The mobile nature of Hit and Run Caricatures ensures the artist will sketch a good mix of your guests. As the artist mingles and draws people on the spot, they are able to get candid representations from all over the event space rather than just those who choose to sit for a traditional caricature. You can also let the artist know if there are any key people you want to make sure get "hit" with a sketch during the event.

Are digital copies of the sketches available after the event?

While the primary deliverable is the physical sketches given to each guest, digital copies may be available depending on your agreement with the artist. Some caricaturists offer add-on services like digital files, logo-imprinted paper, or framing. It's best to inquire about these options and any associated costs when booking the artist for your event.

What should I consider when deciding between black and white or color caricatures for my event?

Hit and Run Caricatures are typically done in black and white to allow the artist to sketch more guests in a short time. However, color may be an option if you prefer, understanding it can reduce the total number of caricatures the artist can complete. Key factors are your budget, event duration, and guest count. If you have a shorter event or want to maximize the number of sketches, black and white is recommended. For longer events with fewer guests, color could be a nice enhancement.

How far in advance should I book Hit and Run Caricatures for my wedding or event?

Caricature artists, especially experienced ones like Ariel Quiroz, can get booked up quickly during peak event seasons. For weddings and large events, it's best to reserve your date 6-18 months in advance to ensure availability. However, you can always check on short-notice bookings in case of a cancellation or opening in the artist's schedule. The earlier you book, the better, especially if your event falls on a holiday weekend, during whale season, or during the summer.
